Ion Wash | Acid Shampoo
Acidic car wash for hard water spots and mineral buildup.
Hard water leaves more than spots. As it dries, the calcium and magnesium it carries harden into scale that grips paint and glass, and regular car soap can’t dissolve it. Every wash leaves a little more behind until the finish looks dull and water stops beading.
Ion Wash is a low-pH formula built to dissolve that scale. Mineral deposits break down into soluble ions and leave with the rinse water instead of drying back onto the surface as new spots. Road film and light iron fallout come off in the same pass. Wash with it regularly and you start every wash from a clean surface.
How It Works
Most car soaps are pH neutral. That works on dirt and does nothing to minerals, because calcium and magnesium deposits only dissolve in acidic conditions. Ion Wash puts that chemistry into a normal wash. The acid reacts with the scale and turns it into dissolved salts, and your rinse carries them away. Spots you catch early come off before they can etch into the clear coat.
Key Benefits
- Removes water spots and mineral scale that pH-neutral soaps leave behind
- Lifts light iron contamination
- Restores gloss and slickness on coated and uncoated finishes
- Helps prevent etching by clearing deposits before they set
- Safe on ceramic coatings when used as directed
- Concentrated, so a little goes a long way
Recommended Use
Foam cannon: 2 oz Ion Wash
Bucket wash: 1 oz Ion Wash
Work on a cool, pre-rinsed surface out of direct sun. Foam or wash, agitate with a clean mitt, and rinse thoroughly before the product dries. For heavy buildup, let it dwell a little longer before you agitate. Don’t let it dry on the surface.
Frequently asked questions
What does Ion Wash remove that regular car soap doesn't?
Is Ion Wash safe on ceramic coatings?
Yes, when used as directed. Wash on a cool, pre-rinsed surface out of direct sun and rinse thoroughly before it dries. Clearing the mineral film off a coating also helps bring back its gloss, slickness and water beading.
Can I use Ion Wash in a foam cannon?
Yes. Add 2 oz of Ion Wash to your foam cannon, foam the car, agitate with a clean mitt and rinse thoroughly before anything dries. It works in a regular bucket wash too.
How do I handle heavy water spots?
Let Ion Wash dwell a little longer before you agitate so it has more time to work on the scale. Keep the panel wet and rinse before the product dries. Spots caught early come off before they can etch into the clear coat, so washing with it regularly keeps buildup from getting that far.
Can I wash with Ion Wash in direct sun?
Work in the shade on a cool panel instead. Heat dries the wash solution before you can rinse it, and Ion Wash shouldn't be left to dry on the surface. Pre-rinse first, work one section at a time and rinse each one thoroughly.
